Lipid Profile Test in Kathmandu
Same Day turnaround at Peoples Diagnostics Laboratory & Clinic, Sanobharang. Walk in 7AMโ8PM, or pre-book via WhatsApp.
About this test
A lipid profile measures the four numbers your doctor uses to estimate your risk of a future heart attack or stroke: total cholesterol, LDL ("bad") cholesterol, HDL ("good") cholesterol, and triglycerides. Some labs also report VLDL and the total-to-HDL ratio. Cardiovascular disease is now the leading cause of death in Nepal, and lipid levels often run silently high for years before symptoms appear. National screening guidance recommends a baseline lipid profile from age 25 if you have a family history of heart disease, or from age 35โ40 for everyone else, with repeat testing every 3โ5 years if results are normal. People already on statins or other lipid-lowering medication usually test every 3โ6 months until levels stabilise. Combined with blood pressure, blood sugar, and HbA1c, the lipid profile is one of the most cost-effective tests in preventive medicine.
