You get fasting and post-prandial blood sugar (the two readings that tell you how the day actually behaves), HbA1c (which averages your sugar control over the previous 3 months), a lipid profile (diabetes accelerates cholesterol-driven heart disease), kidney function (KFT) and liver function (LFT) panels to monitor diabetes-related organ damage, plus a urine routine to screen for early kidney involvement (protein in urine). Together they give your treating doctor everything needed to adjust dose, diet, or referral.

Preparation
Two-part sample collection: arrive fasting (8–12 hours) for the first draw, eat your usual meal at home, then return 2 hours later for the post-prandial blood sugar reading. Bring your medication list and recent glucometer log if you keep one.
